It's amazing the difference a year makes!

My year as the first woman President of the Yorkshire Law Society by Jennifer Bartram, Director at Crombie Wilkinson Solicitors.
“Just over a year ago I became the first woman President of the Yorkshire Law Society, a great honour and a year to remember. The society was founded in 1786 and is after Bristol Law Society the oldest in England.
During my year in office I attended many events on the society's behalf including a Buckingham Palace Garden Party (great afternoon tea), the annual Legal service in Westminster Abbey with a reception hosted by our Minister of Justice who shook hands with hundreds of guests cordially greeting all and a Legal Service in York Minster followed by a luncheon in the Assembly Rooms. I also attended a large number of professional dinners, one of the most interesting locations was the Cutlers Hall at Sheffield and of course our own dinner at the Merchant Adventurers Hall in York attended by Baroness Hale was a highlight that I enjoyed very much.
I met the National President on a number of occasions and think Linda Lee is a remarkable woman who represents our profession without fear or favour in her striving to protect and preserve what is good whilst moving us forward in a time of enormous change.
And so the end of my year was reached…. It was a fascinating journey and an experience I would not have missed”.
