The Nitrate Regulations

The Nitrate Regulations have been laid in Parliament, and come into force on the 17th May. The NVZ maps available on the EA website showing areas designated and the outcome of appeal decisions notified to Defra up to 12 February 2013. The maps will be finalised when all appeal decisions are made.

The regulations make clear that anyone who has had their appeal upheld since 12 Feb will not be in an NVZ but due to the time it takes to finalise and check the maps, these will not be shown on the EA website yet. Further amending regulations will need to be made for appeal decisions after 12 February.
