Are you a Landlord of commercial premises? With effect from April 2018, you will have to take into account the Energy Act 2011 which contains provisions relating to energy efficiency in commercial buildings.
From this date it is proposed that business (and residential) premises that do not reach the minimum energy efficiency standards will be unable to let out their premises. The lowest acceptable rating is likely to be E. As a result commercial properties currently on F- or G- ratings, and some properties currently on E- ratings, will need to take steps to improve their energy efficiency by this date.
