Chris is based at our York office and is a Director of the Firm and Head of Legal Services to Dentists.
Chris trained at the Leeds firm of Lupton Fawcett, qualifying as a Solicitor in 1991. He has specialised in acting for Dentists, buying and selling Practices and the related business activities, for many years and particularly advising those Practices with NHS or capitation scheme elements.
He joined Crombie Wilkinson in 2014, as Head of Legal Services to Dentists, and prior to that was continuously a Partner in private practice for 16 years, the last 5 of which were spent as a Partner at a leading Dental Law Firm.
Chris was an Equity Partner himself for 6 years before selling his Practice to a Legal 500 Operator in 2003. He has first hand, personal experience of many of the potential issues affecting partnerships and also those which can occur when buying and selling a business.
Chris is a commercial lawyer, with a strong property law background, which enables him to act on both the business and property aspects of a transaction. This tends to make a sale or acquisition run more smoothly.
Chris has acted on hundreds of Dental Practice transactions and represented clients all over England and Wales.
Whilst fully embracing the advantages offered by all forms of modern technology, he strongly believes in offering a traditional, ‘hands on’, bespoke and a very personal service to clients which is tailored to meet their individual needs and requirements. He believes in face to face contact with Clients and will travel to meet them wherever possible.
Chris is a Company Director and Trustee of the Leeds based Charity, The Thoresby Society, which is the historical society for Leeds and District. He has also been an area representative for the Solicitors Benevolent Association for some years.
Outside of work Chris is a classic car enthusiast and during the Summer months enjoys driving his blue open top 1978 Triumph Stag.
