Career promotions at Crombie Wilkinson from 1 May 2023

  • Posted

We are very pleased to announce that in the fourth year of our transparent, merit-based and all-inclusive Career Progression Programme and following the latest round of applications, we have promoted 6 staff with effect from 1 May 2023.

Set in place in 2019 with the first set of promotions announced in November 2020, our completely transparent and open to all staff career progression programme has seen us make 31 promotions which includes Associate, Senior Associate and Director status up to this point.

These new promotions have been earnt on merit and continue to challenge the myth that only lawyers can run a law firm. We want to reward staff who are hardworking, dedicated and passionate about our firm and demonstrate our service pledge and values through their actions. Our career progression programme has strengthened our staff support culture and rewards the strength and depth of expertise we have across our award-winning team and is part of our succession planning for the firm.

Congratulations to the following members of staff who have been promoted from 1st May 2023:

  • Matthew Railton, Legal Advisor in our Private Client department has been promoted to Senior Associate.
  • Emma Silkstone, Solicitor in our Private Client department has been promoted to Associate.
  • Polly Dukes Assistant in our Commercial Property department has been promoted to Associate.
  • Sue Hirst, Licensed Conveyancer in our Residential Property department has been promoted to Associate.
  • Sheree Wraith, HR & Development Manager has been promoted to Associate.
  • Wendy Crampton, Assistant in our Dispute Resolution team has been promoted to Associate.

Receiving one of these promotions gives our staff a real opportunity to not only develop their career but also be involved and have a say in the running of the firm for its future growth.

By continuing to stay focused on being the best law firm we can be for our clients and staff, whilst delivering on two of our key values of being client centred and continuous improvement, it demonstrates our clients are at the heart of what we do but this can only be achieved by us investing in our staff so they are the best they can be, feel valued, and contribute to the improvement and growth of our firm.

Alongside these career progression programme promotions, we are also very pleased to say that Leanne Kitson and Lois Britchford have begun their Trainee Solicitor seats in May 2023, joining the current four Trainee Solicitors we already have in post and Laura Parke has started a new role as a Paralegal.

We also welcome Frances Cromwell and Charlotte Cousins who both joined the firm in April and are working in our Residential Property team at our York office and Wendy Lolley who started with us in May as an Assistant in the Commercial Property team at our Selby office.
