World Ploughing 2016

  • Posted

We close our summer event calendar with our sponsorship of the World Ploughing Championships from 8-11 September at Crockey Hill. This event comes hot on the heels of our main sponsorship at the National Sheepdog Trials in August, Members Area sponsorship at Driffield Show and Members Area sponsorship at Great Yorkshire Show.

We will be co-sponsors at the World Ploughing Championships with NFU and will share a trade stand over the four days of the event. Do come along and say hello to us and enjoy some complimentary refreshments.

The British National Ploughing Championships is the country's top ploughing match and one of the leading events in the farming calendar. It is unique amongst large events in that it is held in a different part of the country each year.  This keeps the event fresh and whilst many enthusiasts visit each year, moving to a different location also attracts many new visitors.

Around 300 top ploughmen - and women - from all over Britain will compete in the 2016 British National Ploughing Championships.

Two busy days will be packed with competitions for many types of plough and styles of ploughing, and will climax when the top ploughmen are selected to represent England at the 2017 World Ploughing Contest and European Ploughing Championships.

Following the British Championships on 8th & 9th September will be the 2016 World Ploughing Contest on 10th & 11th, with competitors from over 30 world-wide countries.

Supporting the event will be trade stands, shopping stalls, craft exhibits, vintage displays and demonstrations celebrating a 'Century of Agriculture', a 'Celebration of Steam' by the Steam Plough Club, horse ploughing and a host of other events to attract farmers, their families and people with a love of the countryside.
