Crombie Wilkinson Solicitors LLP operates an internal complaints handling system to help us resolve problems. Our client care letter provides clients with the name of the person to whom the matter will be referred if the problem cannot be resolved by the Legal Adviser responsible for the legal work. A copy of our Complaints Handling Procedure is available upon request.

If, for any reason, we are unable to resolve the problem between us, then you can ask the Legal Ombudsman at PO Box 6806, Wolverhampton WV1 9WJ or www.legalombudsman.org.uk (tel: 0300 555 0333 or email: enquiries@legalombudsman.org.uk) to consider your complaint.

Normally, you would need to bring a complaint within six months of receiving a final written response from us about your complaint. This facility is only available to private individual clients, very small businesses, charities, clubs and trusts.

Alternative complaints bodies such as ProMediate (www.promediate.co.uk) exist which are competent to deal with complaints about legal services should both you and our firm wish to use such a scheme.

The EU regulation on Consumer Online Dispute Resolution enables clients who have a complaint about a service bought online to submit a complaint to an ODR platform. Please see this link for further information.

Cyber crime

Fraudsters are increasingly targeting law firms and their clients, and may attempt to trick clients into sending funds to the wrong bank account.

If you receive an email purporting to come from Crombie Wilkinson Solicitors LLP which informs you of a change to our bank account details, please speak to us straight away. The email may be fraudulent. Please do not send funds to the changed bank account. Crombie Wilkinson Solicitors LLP will not accept responsibility if you send money to the wrong bank account.
