One stop shop for all your legal requirements

Crombie Wilkinson is one of the most respected law firms in North Yorkshire. The Firm, which acts for Clients nationally, is a first rate platform to host a specialist operation providing Legal Service for Dentists. Specialist expertise and knowledge

Your transaction will be handled from start to finish by an experienced, senior Solicitor specialising in Legal Services for Dentists.

Personal Service

We are not a ‘volume operator’, turning over bulk Practice sales and purchases. We believe in offering clients a high quality, very personal and bespoke service tailored to meet their individual needs and requirements. We like to meet all our Clients personally, wherever possible as we believe that there is no substitute for face to face contact. We firmly believe that this approach is the best way of achieving our shared goal, which is to get the job completed quickly and effectively.

Fixed fees

We aim to offer a service providing good value for money to Clients, whilst of course remaining within the parameters of the objective of making a profit for our own business on the work we undertake for you. We are usually able to offer Dentists fixed fees for all work undertaken and fully understand that most clients want the certainty of a fixed fee these days. We usually give a fixed fee for the entire transaction, which we can break down into separate components between the commercial work surrounding the sale and purchase agreement, the Property work and the Due Diligence work.  For Clients purchasing a Practice, the work we undertake on behalf of your Funder/Bank is often extensive and will be included in the Property element of the fixed fee.

All our work is recorded and time costed. In the event of the work undertaken on your transaction coming in at less than the fixed fee, then you would be charged the lesser amount. Our aim is for total fairness and transparency over fees.

Timing

We will listen carefully to your thoughts and requirements on the timeframe for completing the transaction. The sale and purchase of a Practice should not normally take longer than 4 months, but invariably we find that it does. We would seek to establish a clear picture at the outset, by taking detailed instructions from you, comparing notes with the other party’s lawyers, liaising with your Bank Account Manager if you are purchasing and if appropriate, talk to any selling Agent

We will then endeavour to give you a realistic timeframe and progress the matter as quickly as you desire, but taking care to properly manage your expectations in the light of all the circumstances.

We are certain that our ‘back to basics’ approach, of not  adopting the unnecessary, modern policy of using multiple paralegals and other fee earners on the various elements of a transaction, will quicken the work we have to do for you and facilitate an earlier Completion.

Contacts with other professionals

At Crombie Wilkinson we have strong links and work closely with other professionals who specialise in advising Dentists. For example, if you need advice from a specialist Dental Accountant, Business Selling Agent or Independent Financial Adviser, we can point you in the appropriate direction.  We also have a good working relationship and rapport with many of the healthcare account managers at the principal Banks funding dentists.

We also occasionally work with Barristers, specialising in Dento-Legal matters for particularly complex legal issues.
